More than 25,000 Long Island students took an SAT exam in 2016, according to the College Board. Students in the Jericho district scored the highest combined score, 1887, of the averages of the three components of the test – critical reading, math and writing. Here are the results for the 98 districts with students taking the exam. The number taking the test in Fishers Island was below 10 and therefore withheld by the state.
Comparable numbers for the ACT examination, another test used in the college admissions process, were not available. The chart below list districts in order of their overall average score.
